According to George Muiruri, one’s thoughts are their most intimate possession as they are conceived from the creator’s perspective. His life’s work is built upon putting the audience in this perspective.
He embraces human error in his work and presents the materials used, mockups, and, failed attempts together with his final work. Muiruri started by creating physical representations of his thoughts, but this has since changed to a biographical manifesto; this is primarily aimed at creating awareness about mental health and ongoing activist agendas. He has taken it upon himself to share his experience with mental illness with the world through his work. The intention is to start much needed conversations.
Muiruri was born in Nairobi, Kenya. He combines multiple mediums into his work, citing that the process is part of the art.
